Numerology
In
1992 I purchased 2 Numerology books, “Numbers and You” and “Instant
Numerology.” The first thing
that entered my mind was how the interpretation was structured.
After all, it seemed as if there was not enough consistent literature on
this topic.
Some
conventional numerology meanings will:
·
Refer to a “22” a universal number
·
Refer to a 9 year as a year of endings
·
Add a 12 as 1+2, yielding a 3.
Though
I did like “Instant Numerology,” as it was a simple read for the average
person, I wanted more consistent formulations. My interest in numerology
completely faded. Instead, I turned
to Astrology… the rest is history.
After
3 year of serious Astrological Studies, in 1995 a new book in the Astrological
market captured my attention. “New
Insights into Astrology” by Nona Gwinn Press contains not only many advanced
Astrological ideas, but also the best Numerology I have ever seen.
Press
suggests using the Astrological Houses for the personal year meanings.
The personal year carries a vibrational theme for the year.
I was dumbfounded because it actually worked!
To
calculate the personal year you need to add your birthday (month of birth+ day
of birth + current calendar year.) Example:
Birthday March 21 for 2002 (3+2+1+2+0+0+2) will equal 10.
However, traditional Numerology would reduce this to a single digit;
yielding a 1. The reduction to a
single digit in this different approach to Numerology occurs only when the final
number is 13 and higher.
I
then experimented with my birthday and it hit to a T. On my 10th house year, (10th house represents
status and career) I launched
Chartalk Television in New York. Indeed
it was a major leap for my career. On
my 8th year (8th house represents surgery) I had surgery.
On my 9th year (9th
house represents school) I went back to school to finish my degree. On my 12th
house year (12th house represents behind the scenes)
I was plotting my exit from New York for the following year in Los
Angeles, a 4th year, (4th house represents the home.) The house meanings in Astrology always give consistent
meanings to Numerology whereas the number meanings in many ‘traditional
numerology” do not yield a structure nor consistency among the several volumes
written on this topic. Ultimately,
the house meaning yields a general theme where one can encounter some light to
be shed.
Although
I like this system a lot more than the “traditional Numerology” as it has a
definite structure, I do not believe it should be used exclusively because it is
limited. For example 2 people on an
8th house personal year issues will have different 8th
house issues. This is why I believe
with Astrology one can get more details to fill in the blanks.
However, for a “quick “ reading or for a “horoscope” I think it
is more valid and accurate than the usual periodicals found at a supermarket
checkout stand or even on the internet.
